I very much dislike when people can denote a company "evil" because of one incident. Its not the best commercial I have ever seen, not by far, but I still got the points: 1. Buy Pepsi, 2. Download iTunes and buy music, 3. Maybe buy more music or an ipod 4. Repeat cycle, be a consumer whore.
I am a large fan of Apple, but not just because they are trying to sell music in an easy manner to the masses of the PC world, but because they make machines that I am happy with. So they joined up for this project. In terms of a marketing standpoint, this was a great promotion to generate a buzz for the general public. Marketing in general is slightly evil, but it is a necessity in today's world.
Just relax. If you like Pepsi, keep drinking Pepsi, if you want the free downloads, go ahead...and if you want to keep away from this"evil" do it. There are a lot worse things out there that we could and should be working to fight.
I've said my piece. Now, shouldn't you people be working now?
