I've no idea what's going on but I don't really see how this will help Trump get re-elected.

A few war-hungry Republicans will like it but weren't lots of his supporters happy that he'd promised to step back from the Middle East?

It won't win over any anti-Trumpers. They'll now be pinning everything little thing that happens in the ME on him, as a direct consequence of this. He's armed his critics and potentially upset some maga people.

Makes more sense re the impeachment?

    • His supporters make a big show of being anti-interventionist but when it comes down to it the Republicans and their voters are the reason the U.S. ended up inyuekit
    • Iraq in the first place. All this pointless shit over the past two decades...the occupation, ISIS, the fight with Iran...is ultimately thanks to them.yuekit
    • Again, PT just popped 2 guys who were known killers and was making plans to kill again. No need for war, the Mullahs wanted him gone.robotron3k
    • And polls consistently show conservatives are the most trigger happy. They can't wait to bomb Iran and even North Korea.yuekit
    • Yeah, no doubt - but he's already popular with them. Can't see how this wins him anything re the election.Fax_Benson
    • I'm not saying it will help or hurt Trump necessarily, but the idea of there are all these anti-war Republicans out there is pretty much a myth.yuekit
