Could Trump (or in general - any 1st term president) be impeached and removed, but still reelected?

    • I think it dependsdbloc
    • Nothing surprises me anymore...nbq
    • @dbloc on what?Krassy
    • I'm not exactly sure but I think yes, and if so that would void his presidency. He could then run, win a second term, then run for a third.IRNlun6
    • Yes, he absolutely can, his war chest will be $450 million in 1 years time.robotron3k
    • Yes he could. The house can move to impeach, but the senate decides:
      A. Whether to remove from office
      B. Disqualifying from holding future office

    • However, IRN made a mistake; constitution 22nd amendment: no person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twiceT-Dawg
    • If he's already been removed, he wouldn't be the President anymore and wouldn't be running for reelection. Trump would have to run in the GOP primary againstyuekit
    • Pence or whoever ended up replacing him. Pretty unlikely, but it's also unlikely the GOP Senate would ever remove him no matter how bad his crimes were.yuekit
    • It's not unlikely that enough swing state GOP senators would impeach given how bad it would eventually look if they don't.CyBrainX
    • Don't forget, his madness will grow and the list of crimes are adding up daily.CyBrainX
    • You need two thirds of the Senate, so that would include not just swing state but some very conservative senators.yuekit
    • If Trump loses that much support, you can safely assume no one is going to be supporting him in any future election.yuekit
