    • So gun studies never release their research evidence???, And it looks like USA does lead the world in gun deaths!?!robotron3k
    • both sides ignore context to make their points. US mass shootings attract attention because they're usually carried out by 1 person againstFax_Benson
    • multiple, random innocents. Shootings around the world often happen within alt contexts - terrorism, civil war, religious beef etc etc.Fax_Benson
    • US shootings are now starting to happen within those contexts - or so it seems.Fax_Benson
    • Either that or 3rd world countries are exaggerating their safety by not accurately reporting on their mass killings!?!robotron3k

    • Medical industry is regulated heavily, so is the auto industry. They would be far worse without regulations. Guns still are not.monospaced
    • When medical errors are made, efforts are made to correct future errors. Doctors also have to be certified to practice. Same with driving, tests and all.monospaced

    • The right to own guns isn't infringed in that case, it's just regulated so we are at least trying to keep them from the crazies.monospaced
    • I feel like any reasonable person would agree that guns aren't exactly for everyone. Wouldn't give them to a kid without training, for example.monospaced
    • Or the truth might just be, there is something to this pattern of isolated young men in America. Perhaps we need to look there first before it happens again?robotron3k
    • I honestly think there's room for both. I truly don't think one alone will fix it. A combination of addressing the causes, plus the access to guns, is key.monospaced
    • I feel that party aside, any reasonable person should understand limits of such dangerous items in certain hands.monospaced
