All of us decent people, all the Dem candidates, anyone of sound mind who is repulsed by Donald Trump's racism need to put the question to the Republican sycophants and opportunists who have no problem with what he's saying: do you care what it says about your character and your values when you see nothing wrong with what he's saying, and continue supporting him?

It's just astoundingly sad what people are tolerating right now, what they're enabling and what they're emboldening.

I like to think there are American values that are non-partisan and are bedrock principles and traits that are integral to this country that people can rally around regardless of party, to stand up and defend and shut this chaos down. I like to think those exist, but day by day by day I lose a little faith that they still exist to a degree that they're powerful enough to impact positive change.

it's just painfully sad to watch and know people I'd typically consider to be good people be so tragically silent about the president's racism, and the divisiveness it generates. Thus, asking people if they care what it says about their character and values. They probably won't understand, but it's a shot.

    • someone has to go beyond binary L/R politics + give people reason to change their minds. People are defending this shit because they can't abide the alternativeFax_Benson
    • I truly still think one of the most powerful tools Dem candidates can use is to ask people a tangible question: do you have more money, and are you any bettermg33
    • than you were during the previous administration?" Like, you can't argue with that answer. If people are doing worse, they feel it.mg33
    • You can remove all the emotion of the border, immigrants, tariffs, etc. etc. out of that equation and focus on $ and potential.mg33
    • people seem less worried these days about taking a short term financial hit if it means a bigger win down the road.Fax_Benson
    • I think one of the newly-elected decent Dems of sound mind said it best, "Impeach the motherfucker!" I mean that's total class, who could argue.robotron3k
