    • then you have to put key in upside down, open handle by pulling upward w/ left hand, and then the door swings outside?prophetone
    • or just hang the door hardware right side up in an upsidedown door...robotinc
    • The hardware sits upside down but the key / cylinder do not. The lock has a tab (that you cut to length depending on door thickness) and can sit either way. ;)GM278
    • Prophetone's never installed a door.zarkonite
    • uh... that is a door lever style handle, meant to be installed facing in, concave up, if flipped wud prob hit door frame, knuckles would get smunched at bestprophetone
    • also if a hollow door if hardware flipped or swapped how do you fill holes and match up the fake oak veneer nicelyprophetone
    • and why is the door swinging outside?!!! so you see... i actually do watch HGTV on rare occasions so there (*crosses arms)prophetone
    • it's not a hollow door....the door is notched and the lock mechanism slides into a hole from the side, yes its opening out.GM278
    • They then took a hole saw and drilled the hole in the frame for it. It's not that complicated. (although there are more elegant ways of doing this for your dog)GM278
    • That being said, my pups have plenty of windows to look out of in more comfy spots and this is not worth the effort. But who am I to judge.¯\_(ツ)_/¯GM278
    • Yeah ok but now when he walks outside he's actually walking inside so stupidnb
    • HAHA @nbGM278
    • kentrucky?utopian
    • LOL. when you buy a door it doesn't have any holes or markings. You have to get machined so all that is custom made everytime. The door swinging out is a firezarkonite
    • code requirement. Imagine if the house was on fire, would you want to have to pull or push to the door to get out? exactly.zarkonite
    • and don't get me wrong, IMHO this is a dumbass way of giving your dog a window.zarkonite
    • I've never heard of a residential front door required to swing outward for fire code... I mean business less big time but a house? I guess in some states it is?prophetone
    • and wouldn't the door hinge hinge be exposed to the porch leaving the door vulnerable to anyone to pop off in a jiffy? these are the burning questionsprophetone
    • *hinge pinprophetone
