I asked for a soda on a plane from the beverage cart.

I get handed a can, a cup with ice, and a napkin.

I didn't get a straw but probably could have.

No one drinks out of cans?

    It seems so wasteful.

    • hope you cleaned the cancannonball1978
    • cans are absolutely filthy, and having a nice clean cup with ice improves on the otherwise room temperature can sodamonospaced
    • Why are the cups clean and the cans not?Nairn
    • the cans are handled a lot more, with more chances of contamination, whereas the cups come out of a clean bagmonospaced
    • cases of pop are stored in areas where rats and roaches piss and shit all over them.
Always rinse the top of a can before contact

    • Yea, cans are gross. Always use cup especially on a planefuturefood
    • How do you figure the cups are cleaner? Both are done in a factory setting by people who get paid minimum wage to do shit it work.lemmy_k
    • i wonder if i'd hate you as much if i knew you further than the stupidest questions i've ever read on a daily basis...imbecile
    • The cups are stacked into each other. Even if you don't want to use your brain, it's easy to figure just can = rat shit in mouth.cannonball1978
    • just clean it with your napkin ffsBennn
    • It’s about how they’re stored after manufacture. Cans get filthy. Cups remain in relatively clean sealed air tight environment the whole timemonospaced
    • Ah, cans are delivered to retail in large jute bags in the states? That makes a certain sense. Here in the UK, cans and cups come sealed in layers of plastic.Nairn
