don't buy it! the cam might be cheap at first, but cost of film and development will kill you. 3mins of color film + development will go for about $40 -$45. That means that to make a feature project all with one perfect take it will cost you about: $1500 film + development alone.
People who say that DV is crap never learned to use their cameras properly. Progressive DV (Pannasonic DVX100) is comparable to 16mm.
