a questine for americans. do you see any change under trump for 2 years now? anything better? or worse? compared to previous administration? i watch and read various (conflicting) news like everybody else but what's the overall atmosphere?

    • My paychecks have a little less tax taken out but otherwise it doesn't affect me. If I don't read the paper or internet news, I'm unaware.
      ********
    • If I look at the news I trust, Trump is a baffoon and our country is being mocked by other leaders.
      ********
    • If I look at Fox News and those types, Trump is a genius strongman and Democrats want to give away money to criminals sneaking into the country.
      ********
    • The country is huge and an employed American citizen who works in the private sector would not be affected much.

    • honestly, pretty objectively the economy is booming. Jobs, work, opportunities galore. Even my gym keeps hiring and expanding as people now spend more on thoseBoz
    • I never liked Trump, I think he's a massive douche, but so far I think stuff that he has been doing is definitely noticeable in every day life.Boz
    • Uhhh. All he’s doing is bending over for big corporate, giving in to their lobbyists to pad the bottom line while everyone is happy with pathetic $500 bonuses.monospaced
    • It’s a massive financial deregulation that is boosting the economy, but as always, at the expense of regular people. This isn’t good long run.monospaced
    • But right now his actions are fucking over anyone with investments. No smart working people who know anything support this bullshit.monospaced
    • Plenty of retarded assholes somehow think that a slight tax break is a reason to celebrate though. You see them spewing this nonsense everywhere. Idiots.monospaced
    • Unlike the 1%...I paid an additional $900- in taxes in 2018 and watched my healthcare rise 300% in 2019. Fuck Trump!utopian
    • thanks for the replies guys.renderedred
    • Healthcare just went up a ton and benefits got slashed (and if the GOP has their way it'll be getting much, much worse).formed
    • No bonuses or tax breaks here, either.formed
    • Perhaps most important is the rabid spread of hate out there. That I can feel and taste and it's disgusting.formed
    • Sad thing is that so many poor and middle class Trump supporters fall for the delusion of a paltry tax cut. It won’t last forever.mg33
    • I would say about 35% actually supports him, 10% thinks he a douche but likes conservative policies, yuekit
    • 55% hates him. The good economy (which let’s face it is mostly cyclical) has so far shielded him from the full reckoningyuekit
    • that is probably coming.yuekit
    • Having said that, this is the country that voted for Bush twice and where even the “left” party seems intent on nominating people likeyuekit
    • Clinton and Biden. Never underestimate the stupidity, greed and all around douchiness of the average American and you’ll never lose a bet :Dyuekit
    • The division that's happening between people feels like it's getting to a point of no return.stoplying
    • Nobody seems to realize that in April, everybody's going to see a huge tax bill, way bigger than the cut appeared on their paychecks.allthethings
    • Guy I work with is always going on about having $66 more a month, but he doesn't realize he lost mortgage interest deductions, among other things.allthethings
    • Anyway, it's not just Trump, it's the GOP priorities that have fucked everything here. You may not notice things like letting companies pollute everything, butallthethings
    • you will soon enough.allthethings
