Ladies and Gentlemen, Mr Stephen Fry.

Simple explanation and an alternative perspective on Brexit.

    • @1:34 they are coming to Britain, just this week boats of refugees came across the channel from France - A country of peace, great wines and amazing cheeses!shapesalad
    • @2:40 the concern is if a country boarding Syria joins the EU, a direct boarder for more migrants to get in to the EU is made, from which they can move to UK.shapesalad
    • Overall... uk media has always painted the EU as 'them and us' relationship. In fact, the UK is the EU, it's been part of it since day one.shapesalad
    • I think the EU like anything, is not perfect. Leaving it just shift the focus of complain from EU to Westminster.shapesalad
    • If we'd had a UK leader that was more 'right' - and not openly welcomed migrants from the Middle East/Africa, we'd perhaps have stayed in the EU.shapesalad
    • As a country we have a responsibility to share some of the burden of humanitarian disasters. Despite that, immigration is a positive thing for the UK. Look...Morning_star
    • ..at our history and how tembracing different cultures has added to our culture and economy. Curry anyone?Morning_star
    • I'm broadly on his / their side and I found it overwhelmingly patronising. Like being read a children's story. Can't imagine this having any real effectFax_Benson
    • other than to get millions of likes from remainers on twitter.Fax_Benson
    • nothing against Fry but he's a bad choice. It's like the English abroad - if we speak slowly and carefully enough, maybe they'll understand.Fax_Benson
    • Burden of humanitarian disasters... indeed, hence we need to be able to stop our leaders dropping bombs in the Middle East.shapesalad
    • And that argument begs the question - why not house all our homeless?shapesalad
    • Fax, I get where you're coming from. It's a bit like a Ladybird book for Remainers.Morning_star
    • @Shapesalad. The homeless problem is a nightmare and I don't think it's as simple as providing homes. There is a huge amount of mental illness within the...Morning_star
    • ...homeless community. It's not difficult to get help if you're able to keep to the regime that's required of you, however, coupled with drug and alcohol...Morning_star
    • ...dependancy, antisocial behavious, criminality and mental healt it's not just a matter of putting a roof over someones head.Morning_star
    • ^ I get what you mean, but I don't think Fry was being overly condescending. Do you think we're a bit hypersensitive to all this now as we see the deceit?Ianbolton
    • People are still pumping out bullshit in regards to what's happening and I think Fry's calm approach was quite soothing actuallyIanbolton
    • Fry is Boris's equal opposite, so I think he's a perfect. He needs to get through to Essex idiots, not well-educated professionals.Projectile
