So I live near a high school. It's actually the high school I went to and graduated from nearly 20 years ago.
I was at a stoplight in front of the school the other day and a kid cruises by on his skateboard with his headphones on.
The kid purposefully drops his empty soda bottle in the gutter and pushes on down the sidewalk.
The first thing that runs though my mind when I see it is "What a fucking douche!"
Only later does it dawn on me that that kid was literally me 20 years ago. Skating home from school. Blasting a mix tape on my walkman. And I probably would have littered my soda bottle with reckless abandon when I was a young punk too.
