Just noticing again over the past couple of weeks how much superior macOS (High Sierra) is over Windows (10).

I only use Windows for gaming but every time I boot into it I'm so glad I don't actually have to work in there. I know it's just habits and many will disagree but to me so many things in Windows are so annoying.

macOS is just so much more fluid and robust overall. And all the UI is much more consistent and thought out.

Windows has so many annoying shit going on in the background that is not easy to find to disable. I had to really google 100 things on how to disable stuff because you can't find it easily or it's hidden in registry files that you need to edit in order to get rid of annoying crap going off. The fact that Microsoft treats it's user like idiots (at least that's how it makes me feel) is another sign.

On the surface and superficially Windows10 looks nice but then when you work in it you notice quickly how it's just a skin over the same old Windows crap that they hadn't really improved in all the past 10+ years.

And now with macOS Mojave coming soon the Mac will be even better.

    • that calculator - why would you need to stretch it so wide that there's a big gap on the right side?shapesalad
    • the gap on the right side will show the calculation history, like an adding machine.imbecile
    • and it's responsive too, just make it less wide and it goes away.zarkonite
    • I find osx just as annoying and full of bad ideas.zarkonite
    • Not much to argue with here. They should include a "disable all the bullshit" toggle switch for power users.section_014
