New XPS are pretty small. I have one old one, and one older one. They've been getting smaller and smaller for a while now.
The new XPS laptop look pretty nice.
When I travel I've been using a Surface to control desktops via Teamviewer. I have an external monitor (27" Dell) I picked up and left at my parent's house. It's really amazing how easy it is to do (no lag, etc., though it does suck when the power goes out and someone has to restart Teamviewer).
