i have done both for $$ and fun since 97 and if you are editing your own footage and putting together your own story, then you can't get anymore creative than that.. Plotting down points and connecting them into polygons and then connecting the polygons to make shapes is not very creative, so if you have something to say and think you have the time to pull it off go with video editing, but if you're not working on your own stuff there is absolutly nothing worse than video editing, but 3D still sucks.
