Hopefully soon everyone can realise that guns are not the problem in America, psychiatric drugs are. How many shooters have been on meds? Go and have a look for yourself.

Drugs that are allowed, encouraged and profited on by the same people that will lock someone up for cannabis. Guns ain't the issue folks...

    • why make it one or the other? Guns are clearly part of the issue, even if opioids / societal issues are the driving cause.Fax_Benson
    • Well you're right, they're both an issue, but drugs is a thousand times more important...set
    • But no one needs a fucking gun. Certainly not a machine gun or assault rifle.set
    • Drugs is = the drugs issue is*set
    • The point being the drug issue is far more important yet not being talked about. All focus is on the gun problem, which is merely a symptom of a greater cause.set
    • As ever I'm probably not the most eloquent or diplomatic in my delivery. I don't want to argue, let's talk...set
    • i agree that drugs are the problem.
i also agree that guns are the problem.
furthermore, i agree that set is a problem.

    • That's pretty much what I just did, right..set
    • you're right but saying access to guns isn't issue starts the thing off on the wrong foot and you get an 80-note shitfest, and no discussion of drugs issueFax_Benson
    • Yupfadein11
    • set, you mix drugs, mental illness or whatever the fuck else with a semi automatic weapon and you're fucked. So guns ARE a massive part of the problem.BusterBoy

    • Sure, but if it weren't for drugged up mentally unstable people most of these shootings would never have happened.set
    • It's wrong of me to say guns aren't the issue, but if there were no guns in America horrific things would still happen through a different methodset
    • The main issue that's not being talked about or focused on anywhere near enough is that these people are on medication that takes away the...set
    • ... the emotions and feelings that usually stop humans from doing these things.set
    • I live in the UK, of course I agree that no one should have guns, but it's a distraction from bigger issuesset
    • I’m curious. Are there like no meds in Australia, Japan and the UK? If meds are the issue you’d think this would happen in more places more oftenmonospaced
    • Honestly I’d rather people have to resort to other methods of killing than having access to killing machines, bombs and billet proof gear.monospaced
    • I do understand it’s not guns alone. But can’t we just start somewhere at least to TRY to get guns out of their hands???monospaced
    • The fact that I could buy an arsenal at a whim is so fucking stupid. Even worse and easier than my access to meds.monospaced
    • I agree, guns should be banned. Regardless, an example, read this and tell me which is the more important issue?set
    • http://www.bbc.co.uk…set
    • Ban guns but talk about why the guns were used in the way they were.set
    • As much as i want to disagree with set... nearly every mass shooter in recent decades used anti-depressant drugs prior to or during their acts of violencewagshaft
    • It's clearly an issue based on many factors not one yet doesn't seem to be getting any better post Obamafadein11
    • And still unique to your countryfadein11
    • upvoted to make you feel better about your ludicrous original statement anyway.fadein11
    • It's very clear to all what the main issue that needs addressing is. The only thing ridiculous here is the need to disagree with me, just because it's me.set
    • Your way is to nanny a population and take away dangerous things, which you can never do completely. The better angle is to improve and care for our people...set
    • ...and that includes not getting kids drugged up on psychiatric medication. Which is ultimately what makes them do these things.set
    • Ultimately no one needs a fucking gun. Ideally they would not exist. Obviously. But people are missing the point to who's using these guns and why...set
    • "guns are not the problem" bizarre black and white thinking big brain. I do understand why you had to showboat mid tragedy again though, we all get you nowfadein11
    • I really don't believe it's the medication that causes people to kill. The correlation might be because medicated people are already on edge, but the causationmonospaced
    • is simply not there in my opinion.monospaced
    • Yep. Its clearly a situation based on many factors. Legal military grade assault rifles being an easy delivery mechanism of a poisoned society. Knives dont killfadein11
    • 17 innocent beautiful lives. Like i said get your fucking shit together America :(fadein11
    • but let's not hurt Set's likkle feelingsfadein11
    • Mono, these drugs take away feelings of empathy and compassion. Consequence and rational thought process.set
    • Almost every single mass shooter has been on them. Come on, man.... Come on.set
    • Did you read properly the link I provided? That kid descended in to the emotionless killer be became because of the drugs he's on. It's clearly documented.set
    • No drugs, no killing spree.set
    • The larger issue is pharmaceutical companies profiting on getting kids(everyone) hooked on these drugsset
    • and then placing focus on gun problems, the symptom, rather than the cause. Disagree with me all you like, it's futile.set
    • I'm making a new one sans your real nameset
    • But there is a reason they are on drugs. I agree with you set, but there is issues to what lead people to the drugs in the first place.mugwart
    • That's true dudeset
    • I hear you loud and clear. But correlation isn't causation. Meds aren't the case in EVERY situation either, despite your insistence they are.monospaced
    • one could argue that being male is the causation, considering all of these are committed by men, but nobody's doing that specifically :)monospaced
