As someone that has probably done all the research you're about to do, let me say:

    - If you want a viewfinder and zoom in a super compact unit, get the Sony RX100 mark iii or above
    - If you want a compact camera with the same sensor as the Sony, with zoom, but without the viewfinder and at a significantly lower price, go the Canon G7X Mark ii. Most reviews put the Mark ii very close to the Sony.
    - If you want a larger sensor, with Fuji's proprietary jpeg colour settings, a flip screen, and no viewfinder, get the X70. A bunch of people have recommended the same unit to me in my recent thread with a similar title: http://www.qbn.com/topics/714589… . If you can afford to go double that sort of budget, then look at the X100T. The X70 is a 28mm equivalent lens, and the X100T is a 35mm equivalent, if I'm not mistaken.
    - You can look at the Panasonic Lumix range, but I the sample pics haven't won me over. At the end of the day, that's what you're really looking for, imo.
    - Check out the sample pics online for each of the cameras above (or other units that rate well on sites like dpreview) and see which ones appeal to your eye.
    - Waste several hours going through YouTube reviews with the exact same title you posted and make a decision. https://www.youtube.com/results?…
