My point is, to everyone getting butt-hurt about this – which is a load of designers looking at a logo saying "i could have done that" – we know nothing about what went into the decisions, directions, exploration and bullshit that came before this. To say 'oh just put caps lock on' is such a narrow minded view that reminds me of how the Daily Mail (or tabloid press writ large) evaluates any logo redesign.

I'm not saying its groundbreaking or even different by any stretch but it feels like Calvin Klein, but updated. Endy story.

How many times have your clients gone for the safe option?

    • Well does that really matter to an outsider looking at it? Just because it was researched doesn't make it a good logo.dbloc
    • "It feels like Calvin Klein" What does that even mean? The old version didn't "feel" like Calvin Klein? You're spewing nonsense.dbloc
    • Most of us are designers here with an opinion, including yourself. Don't downplay others' opinions to make yourself look taller.dbloc
    • 1 – It feels like an evolution of what they had and is 'on brand' – which is what a logo evolution is supposed to do right?DaveO
    • 2 – Of course research doesn't matter to the outsider, but to go off like a few on this thread de-values the work we all undertake to a tabloid response.DaveO
    • 3 – I'm not downplaying opinion, I'm just saying that some of the kneejerk reactions remind me of this
