Just got back. I think I liked Force Awakens more, it was a bit more refined than this movie, but I need to see R1 again. It was good. Great at times, but had some flaws.
*SPOLIERS*
CGI Tarkin and Leia shouldnt have been done. It was too noticeable and sucked me right out of the movie. Felt like I was watching a cartoon. The first 45 mins felt very disjointed. The 2 Vader scenes were excellent.
- I agree with all of this but was impressed with Tarkin.CyBrainX
- The final Vader scene had my inner 8-yr-old grinning with wide-eyed delight, super badassprophetone
- They could have reduced Tarkin and had more Vader. Would have worked better.ETM
- And were the first act problems related to the reshoots, I wonder?ETM
- I hadn't read anything about the production before watching the film so didn't pay close attention to the cgi rendered faces, so for me it worked.Bullitt
- Unlike Jeff bridges in tron2 which looked like someone wearing a rubber maskBullitt
- It is the eyes though, they need to study them more, it's missing the constant movement maybe that's almost unnoticeable... maybe it's missing the soulBullitt
- Yeah they needed a cgi James brown to make it work lolBullitt
- ^ they used a real actor and cgi'd on top - the eyes were the real actors for that exact reason.fadein11
