There was an interview on the bbc news channel earlier with a guy from some kind of social media data analysis firm who correctly predicted the brexit result, based on millions of facebook and twitter conversations.
I was only half watching but he was saying that their data tends to be more accurate than polling data because social media opinions are largely unsolicited and unfiltered. 'Shy' Trump voters tend to be less shy when given a level of online anonymity, and there are lots of them.
Anyway, he reckoned computer says Trump.
Could be that they're just really obnoxiously noisy, rather than legion.
Let's hope so.
- Guess he never looked at an electoral map in this country before. Its not possible for a brexit to happen here.CygnusZero4
- Realistically, how does trump get to 270? Win every red state and sweep ALL of the swing states, AND steal multiple dem states from her.CygnusZero4
- In other words, its really not possible.CygnusZero4
- Hillary is leading in Nevada, North Carolina, and Florida. She only needs a single one of these states and is over 270. LolzzzCygnusZero4
- yeah, don't think it's accurate - just algorithms that look at social media noise applied to the election.Fax_Benson
- the point being that people reveal their true intentions (loudly) online than they do in the street / on the phone with a pollsterFax_Benson

- @Fax, turns out most minorities are revealing their true intentions in huge numbers at the voting polls.monospaced
