August 1st my company informed me that they're going through another re-org and I didn't make it through. The UX dept as the company knew it was shifting. No more design manager, and no more UX. Instead, each designer would be assigned to 1 or 2 sprint teams and have the scrum master be their new boss. Each UXA would also be assigned 1-3 sprint teams and would have the same bosses as the UXD, depending on sprint team.
My last day was the 1st but I would be an active employee until August 31st. Then, I'd be paid for another 2 months.
I luckily had sensed something coming and had begun interviewing. I was hired full time by my new company September 1st and am currently enjoying double pay.
I feel like I can breath again. I love my new job. I love my new team. I love every possible thing about this place. I never before really believed the whole "the grass isn't always greener, you gotta water your own grass" line my last company fed me. It was total b.s. The grass is most definitely greener and I couldn't be happier.
