  If you do end up going with the 12" iBook, or any iBook for that matter. Buy it from MCE Technologies in LA, you can do it on-line. They install a superdrive, and replace the cd-rw, all for only 120-200. Also, there is a firmware hack which allows the iBook to use dual monitors, doesn't void the warranty either. I'm using it right now and had my lcd replaced just last week :-)

  Anyway, for fit and finish, if you go with a 12" buy the powerbook, for lots of pixel real estate go 17"
