Dude, don't get a powerbook - unless you like laptops, then go for it. i have a powerbook and a desktop g5 - love the g5 better, and garage band???? yuck
the money you save by buying a desktop over a laptop and getting a normal monitor (like a viewsonic or something) you can throw towards some real audio apps with some serious horsepower and still not spend as much on a powerbook which you'll be fed up with soon due to the lack of upgradability. just email me or check my site for some ideas on what i use
