    what does your contract say?

    you have to have reasons from your experience why it hinders the project, pros and cons. if it takes more time for you to adjust work, etc. or if its counter productive to your project you have to convince him why. basically you are going to have to do salesesque pitch to convince your client on the negatives vs positives without damaging his ego.

    also if its a time issue you are going to have to tell him it takes more time and $$ if you have that luxury. but over all also depends on his personality type from your experience.
