They've been tantalizingly walking the line staying in parallel with the comic lately. At least to the point if you read the comic you might wonder if they'll take someone out in similar fashion. I've been waiting for this one and THE other one for several episodes in anticipation so this was expected but played so well that when delivered I still felt pretty shocked.
The show really seems to be maturing. The governor was a pretty dark character in the comic but the sappy, sentimental guy that played him in the show, and the deviations in the writing showing his softer side really watered down what could have been a great character study. But for once their slowing down of things feels deliberate and enticing and not just filler til the continuation of the main story so I'm hooked again for the first time in a long while! :)
- Exactly why I won't read the comic until the show ends. I never understand why people want spoilers.CyBrainX
- ^ yup. I stopped reading them before the prisonGnash
- I stopped reading the comics after Negan and Lucy did what they did. Unpleasant, and I kind of like not knowing where the show is going.i_monk
- interesting, I wonder if the comic sales have taken a hit as a result._niko
- Taken a recent hit or taken a hit since the show started? If it's the latter, no, they're through the roof.MondoMorphic
