Portland's cool. Massive amounts of people moving here primarily from Cali have caused rents to skyrocket and traffic to suck.
Many of the things that were once cool and unique about Portland have been displaced by high rent establishments and condos. The broke creatives who "Made Portland Weird" can no longer afford to live here and are being systematically replaced by bay area yuppies.
Pretty much turning into a mini-San Francisco and only getting worse with overdevelopment.
Glad I bought a house a few years back, should be able to sell it for a lot whenever I move on. Guess that's just how it goes.
If you're a decent designer or good at whatever you do you should be able to find work somewhere.
Good food & bountiful titty bars though.

The city feels way more alive than it did in the 90s.wagshaft - ^True. I try not to confuse progress with loss of "flavor", but it does suck to see friends not able to afford to live here anymore. And new housing goingBK
