"Have you every seen a positive news report on Islam/Muslims? Rare isn't it? Media has no interest in positive or real Islam, only this fringe stuff."—MakeBelieve

tbf, I rarely see much positive news about xtians or hindus or ...actually, the last three stories I remember about Sikhs have all been quite positive... etc either.

Frankly, I'm bored by religion - yours, theirs, everyone's.

I don't want to learn more about your religion*, I don't want to learn any more about 'my own' religion - I'm done with it all, and want the world of my youth back, the one where religion was a mere anachronistic crutch for older generations, surpassed by base humanism or Belief-Lite™, like the old toothless but jovial Church of England, before it started going all American Pentecostal and whacky.

There's no need for people to have an all-seeing, all-judging Sky Daddy dictating their mores - especially when there are multiple Sky Daddies and each of the juvenile wits is antagonising the other juveniles wits with promises that "my Dad could beat up your Dad". No, fuck off, all of you.

Enough now, let's be done with this idiocy.

    .

    * then you could quite rightfully ask "then why are you here, then?" fair point.

    • Positive stories about Sikhs revolved around their breaking religious rights and removing their turbans to save or comfort people, so... more like humanism.detritus
    • Almost heard about the Sikh Canadian guy who was photoshopped to look like a Paris shooter. Another Sikh guy was attacked, somebody thought he was Muslim.MakeBelieve

    • You can use any ideology to kill or go to war. WWI and WWII were secular wars, most wars in history have not been religious at all.MakeBelieve
    • Religion is a pawn, opium used to lure the masses by small groups of dictators. In Islam we don't have a Pope or overarching leadership. Pros/Cons to that.MakeBelieve
    • actually, most wars were fought about fucking religion. It's time to ditch it from public and let people do their praying in private.mekk
    • Factually not true: https://carm.org/rel… - facts say otherwise.MakeBelieve

    • Facts are correct though, you can look them up at a non-religious site.MakeBelieve
    • Wars are always fought for money and power, 'leaders' use whatever to justify it, religion, wmds, etc.formed
