I went to see Bruce Robinson (writer & director of Withnail & I) talking to Will Self about this book and why he ended up spending the last 15 years of his life producing it. A great talk and so far, a brilliant read.

- Robinson is really angry in this book and he's really gone into the whole masonic conspiracy side of the murders. It's a really compelling argument he sets out.Wolfboy

wonder what possessed robinson to write about jack?garbage - At the talk he said he was doing some research into another crime for a screenplay and a detective he was talking to brought up the subject of The Ripper...Wolfboy
- And there was basically a challenge/bet made that he could, through research solve the mystery. He thought it would take 2 years.Wolfboy
- Then when he became convinced there was a huge Masonic cover up/scandal he just got deeper and deeper into research.Wolfboy
