    I had no intention to start a philosophical discussion... Anyway, in my country, possession and carry have two very different permits and regulations. In my case, I only have a gun possession license. I don't need to carry a gun, and even if wanted to, I would have to justify a lot of things (transferring huge amounts of money, for example). Thus, I can only carry a gun: from my house to a shooting range, unloaded, and out of sight.

    I like to practice, it's an expensive but very enjoyable hobby. I'd never use a gun for self-defence, since the penal code legislation in my country only allows the use a of a fire-arm on self-defence inside your home, and pretty much makes yourself responsible as the gun holder, of any action. At home, I keep it in a safe, as I mentioned in a previous comment.
