On the provincial side the NDP have only been in power a couple months and are already putting Alberta deeper into debt.

It's not all their fault, but they did reverse 1.4 billion the past government made in cuts to help deal with low oil prices and already have a 5.9 billion deficit. Going just like everyone other province they took over. Cuts suck and are unpopular, I know, but when there is no money you can't spend. The NDP just never seem to learn fiscal responsibility. Well... none of the parties really do, some just worse than others.

    • *every other provinceETM
    • Spending is the mandate of the NDP, their philosophy is that all services should be provided by the government and all income should be paid in taxes in returnspot13
    • Tar Sand economy. Depend only on oil....Salarrue
    • Most local regions have a singular dominant economic factor... so what's your point?ETM
    • Alberta has barely any debt and tens of billions in the bank. They will weather the storm and bounce back.zarkonite
    • I also think it was a good thing to reverse the cuts, no one should ever cut into education and healthcare is not the first thing you chop when there is troublezarkonite
