From a UX prospective id say the upvote and down vote # is an eye sore. The way it is displayed in bold and its location is an eye soar. even if positive, i feel it takes away from the priority of the user experience in its location and boldness. A smart usability feature for this particular crowd, (mind you we are not facebook here) would be for votes to be visable only when you click on to view by votes to organize the order of your view by votes and should be the only time votes are visible. otherwise its an archaic feature and eye soar because you see it before your experience of the post.

    • an eyesore? you don't even see it until you hover over the post.moldero
    • no it shows up as a bold number in black next to the user name.yurimon
    • No, you don't have to hover to see it. It's always there. At least on Mac/Safari.iCanHazQBN
    • I think it takes away from the experience because it gives a you a plus or minus too early before you see the rest of the main post. its a distraction.yurimon
    • in a plain text post it dominates the space to much because of the boldness of the phone and coloryurimon
    • errr mean font and coloryurimon
    • I would think you would want the content given first visual priority and then the poster or comments. I think this fails in the current visual structure. this becomes a voting site.yurimon
