    Time is money. Better to focus on what you are good at than take time interviewing, reviewing resumes, etc., etc. I spend ages looking for my salesperson and eventually hired a company. Just too many headaches and it just sucks your time away.

    Getting people to jump through hoops may seem trivial from the outside, but it does inform the owners about the candidate. If you aren't willing to play game, then really, you don't want the job that badly (and wouldn't be a good employee). That's the logic, anyway.

    [note that this was for a sales/business development position, design could be different if you are going for talent vs. skills]
