    I think the same old adage applies as always...get the fastest CPU, most RAM and acres of disk space -

    maxing out the RAM is good coz AE works nicely doing ram previews, but getting the material into ram is obviously from the HD so,

    getting the fastest drives you can also helps (dont have to be setup as raids but if you can afford them its nice..)...

    partion all your drives for footage, projects and scratch material....

    if you dont work at 16x12 yet, start thinking about it coz that timeline with loads of layers gets pretty hairy sometimes, and

    needless to say get a fast gfx card

    hope that helps.....also, doesnt really matter who makes the PC but try to stay away from Sony's just because they seem to always feature in last place (just about) when it comes to 'performance' reviews....
