I see a native app for QBN as a good thing, but for a website like The Verge for example I do not, in fact they just removed all their apps from the app store and google.
Since this is basically a message board a native app could work very well, but for a content website... it's better just to go to the actual website, responsive or not.
There's a reddit client for iOS called alien blue which is really nice. Reddit also launched their first app for iOS just for their AMAs (ask me everything).
