I always hear folks saying WD drives fail, especially on here. I have three WD external drives, two of them are NAS drives. All of them I use strictly for backup, aside from my Time Capsule / Backblaze account. (The WD's were my backups before I got TC/Backblaze).
The two WD NAS drives are 7 years old and running just fine (yes, 7 years old). My other WD drive is around 5 years old and runs fine too.
