    first: make an ice pack (a plastic bag with ice and another on top of it + a small towel to prevent sking burn) put it on your finger
    keep it for 20 min then let it rest 5 then keep it another 20

    try to move your finger?

    open your hand flat on a surface and try to see if where it hurt and if there's a small misalignment

    >> nothing in particular: make a new ice page and repeat step one,
    if by the end of the day you still can't move it, go see a doc

    >> if your finger seems odd: go see a doctor
