I was on the train about three weeks ago and standing opposite me was an anomaly of a man. About 6ft 5", grey balding head, grey stubble, black rounded glasses, a blue and white striped shirt with pink tie and a long black jacket down to his ankles.
He looked like a banker in a hollywood film, very out of place on a busy commuter train. As he got off and walked away I noticed he'd left his umbrella on the train. As it was pissing down outside and I figured he'd never get it back, I grabbed it and used it on the way home.
That was about three weeks ago. Today as it was raining pretty heavily I thought I'd take it to work with me, the first time it's left my house since I grabbed it three weeks ago.
I get on the train and guess who I see standing there in the carriage? The anomaly.
I walked over to him and handed him his umbrella. The look on his face was priceless. A strange piece of abstract fate.
