thanks for the replies... much appreciated...
don't worry i 'do' know what i am getting into - and that is why i thought i'd sound you guys out...

past few years have been projects that come about via word of mouth - clients to potential clients and the like - and majority of the time it's a case of we've got this much to spend what do we get...

i guess my phrasing of the question does make me sound like a bit of "rabbit in the headlights" but that is not the case (he says with blind optimism) - it is a case though of not having had to pitch/tender what ever you want to call it to land a project.

and as for how much is it worth to me - well - i'd do it for free if i am perfectly honest - but for the amount of work involved i'd need a lottery win to happen first!!!

but thanks for all the responses ;-) some good and valid points for me to think about...

    • and hope that doesn't sound like work comes flooding through my door :-( just got luckywwfc
    • If you don't think the museum doesn't have a budget for this you're gonna have a bad timed_rek
    • i've seen some figures of the most recent grant... it's a pretty decent wedge... guess it depends on how much is allocated for this side of things
