the beauty of drobo is you can replace disks whenever and it will dynamically re-adjust. so buy the cheaper hdd now, then when ssd becomes more reasonably priced, swap them out.
like detritus said, ssd's aren't really for storage but for quick booting, but your drobo will definately benefit from faster drives. plus when you raid a few drives in any kind of nas (or usb or whatever) you'll get a faster speed than any one of the drives.
