In the past I've converted a Mongoose scooter to gasoline with a chainsaw engine, welding bearing cups and a sprocket to a heavy duty rear wheel. More recently I upgraded an electric scooter with a servo-motor from a late 70's teletype machine. My next project will be a bike, using a treadmill motor, rated at a maximum DC of 130v (2.19hp) and a "cruising" voltage of 95v (1.35hp) I'll be buying laptop batteries in bulk for power, the charger and speed control will be custom for the application. I'll need a sturdy frame so any recommendations would be helpful.
