My understanding is that the SSDs have a big advantage in durability, which was another factor in my choice. My hard drive was failing, after 3 years. I've had other hard drives that failed. In fact, that's the point at which I've bailed on most of my previous computers. But I've never had the circuitry, or CPU give out on a computer. And the SSD is a lot more like a circuit or CPU than it is like a hard drive. No moving mechanisms. Just electrons moving around, I guess.
