  why does a gender imbalance have to be misogynism? maybe (graphic) design is just more appealing to males, on average, and other types of design may draw more female interest, on average.

  Engineering is super male dominated. Not because women aren't smart enough or are locked out of it, but probably because smart women tend toward medicine or law or where ever their bliss is.

  Like it or not, most girls grow up playing house, and most boys grow up playing war. It's instinctual and into plays into where our adult skills and interests lay.
