2 of my friends (a buddy and his girlfriend) are visiting me in Mazatlan right now, yesterday they almost drowned, the rip took them way out past the break in a blink of an eye. 2 life guards swam out to them and struggled to even make it back in themselves after almost 55 minutes.
Funny thing is, I swam out to all 4 of them (including the lifeguards) WITH MY DOG, they were all like "GO BACK! GO BACK!" so I swam back in around 10 minutes and waited for them for about 30 minutes before they finally made it back, funny thing was the suppose-ed life guards struggled as much as my friends and barely made it back themselves. the life guards should have been smart enough to put their bodies as much to the surface as much as possible, the stronger part of the rip was just below the surface.
