Going to try attempt my first homebrew in May when I get a free weekend. My friend gave me a never-before-used kit that makes upto 2 gallons / growlers worth of beer. All I need to get is some cleaning supplies and fresh ingredients.

Anyone have tips / suggestions before I embark on my first homebrew? Maybe some common mistakes to avoid? First time errors? That type of stuff?

    • watch for: boil over!
tip: you can never be too clean
tip: fill into growlers.... who the fuck drinks 1 beer :)

    • Sterilize everything that comes in contact with your wort. Watch out for boilovers, especially when adding hops during boil.tymeframe
    • Turn the heat off whenst adding the malt. You don't want to scorch the malt on the bottom of the boiler.dasohr
