I am a chivalrous guy, I always hold open doors for women, I never sit on the subway, etc. I pride myself on it, it's a nice thing for guys to do. But fuckin' a, can't a fucking girl at least pay it back for fucking once, EVER?
- what a jerkCALLES
- me?monospaced
- if you are expecting payback, you are doing it for the wrong reasonlocustsloth
- maybe they are paying it back in small ways that you haven't noticed. nip slip or something.capn_ron
- Well, I had opened doors for three women, held the elevator for them, the whole time my hands were totally full...monospaced
- When we got to our floor, I graciously let them off the elevator first and they proceeded to the doors to the floor...monospaced
- Then they just walked in before me, not bothering to a) say thanks EVER, or b) hold the door for me.monospaced
- I had full hands, so I almost spilled my coffee trying to get the door open. I said "thanks" to them.monospaced
- i know what you mean mono, the wrong girls take and take, but the right one will give back.moldero
- I don't expect anything back for being chivalrous, but I do expect a fucking SHRED of politeness... lend a hand!monospaced
- oprah (walked in on my mom watching) she did this door test NYC vs LA, no one in NYC said thanksmoldero
- which was surprising because LA has the reputation for being stuck up or whatevermoldero
- this was like 20 years agomoldero
- LA gets a bad rap, but i find LA people a lot cooler than SF people in general, i blame the weathermoldero
- chivalry & equality can not exist together. women are our equals, they can open doors, they're empoweredalbums
- never been to NY. but that's kinda how i imagine people there are like... lolpango
- i wouldn't never not open a door for a ladyscarabin
- yes it probably is because you are in NY. i waited tables for a while in greenwich village and noticed people i worked with were rude as fuck and still got tips. i decided to be myself, attentive and pretty much a good waitress. my tips were great and the cooks loved me. others were looking at me like "this bitch!" lol i wasn't kissing ass i was just saying please and thank you. i guess it's something some people struggle with or just never learned life skills.sea_sea

- Just to be clear, I am born and raised Californian, so I'm not some rude New Yorker. But I don't think ti's just a city thing.monospaced
- So, all you women out there, if you see a guy with his hands full and you can help, open the fucking door for him.monospaced
- And if a guy holds a door for you, lets you through the elevator first, etc, please say thanks or at least smile.monospaced
