IMHO Helvetica looks kind of busted on the web.
It's 2013 - look outside the standard web stack. Typekit has a bunch of lovely sans serifs (Proxima Nova, etc), and Google Fonts even has good ones.
Google Fonts - Roboto, Droid Sans are favorites and are free to use.
- Love Proxima, just disappears into the content, ultra-clear for mid-sized body copy, and too shabby heavier, either.mikotondria3
