    Yes, that's the reason it sucked, because they made it "accessible". It had nothing to do with the utterly nonsensical plot, which saw the antagonist travelling back in time not to save his planet from destruction by giving them two decades to evacuate, but to seek revenge on people who had nothing to do with the destruction, in the process going on an off-screen adventure to turn his dinky mining ship into an unholy planet annihilator which he turns against the two most important planets in the Federation (that are completely undefended, save for a handful of cadets, because every fucking space ship they own has been sent off to some nebula somewhere) and can only be stopped by three people separately marooned on the same planet within walking distance of each other, while fucking lens flares obscure everything on screen.
