    I actually did look at the suggestions, some closely. Here's the reasoning behind my decision:

    First of all, the tricky thing was I had a gift card so if the camera wasn't available at the store, I wasn't going to get it. That right there eliminated the Nikon and S30. The S50 was too expensive, and I don't remember why I didn't like the Sony. I had my reasons. Anyway, for what I wanted and could afford it came back to the A70 and the Kodak. Being a beginner I liked the simplicity of the Kodak and I fealt the higher resolution would hold up better over the years. Further to that I've read good things about it.

    Maybe I'll live to regret it, who knows, but for what it's worth, right now, I'm happy with it and don't see why I shouldn't be. In the future I'll no doubt have the budget and experience to justify getting something, perhaps, better.

    Out of curiosity, though, what's so bad about Kodaks? I do have the option of an exchange if it turns out to be a very bad decision.
