thanks for the adivce gabriel. i have done that with someone in the past and it worked out pretty well. but unfortunately today's help was for my mother. and she's on a mac...old...running 9.1.4...and she can't even boot up...
i guess, it's more that she doesn't even own the proper software. it'd be nice if i could just stop by for 10 minutes and fix it you know...
