Here's a thought based on some of the facts stated above by GeorgesII. "Humanz" have only been around for a few hundred thousands years at most. Based on current trends, we'd be lucky to survive another thousand.

Now if our civilization ends up being a tiny blip in the geological record, what's to say there weren't other civilizations in the past that we just don't have any record of because they lasted < million years?

    • We will be a blip and nobody except some future 4 arms archeologist will care about usGeorgesII
    • Interesting thought, but archaeological records haven't turned up anything that interesting.monospaced
    • Our current civilizations will leave a stain that will take another few million years to get outmonospaced
