    it's based on an engine that takes in account every vote, if one person voted 2, but the majority voted 4, it will most likely give it 4 not 2.

    You only see the first 10 or so votes when you click on the movie, but you get a sense of the majority of votes from the final count.

    at least that's how I think it works, and I don't know shit hahaha

    But what I can tell you is that no matter what site you are on, ratings should mean nothing to you, some people love horror movies, I don't like them, so to other people Saw 3 can be a 7 star rating, and I'm going to rate it 1 star because they won't allow me to rate it zero.
